Welcome, again!

In my last, welcome.  I told you I wouldn’t be posting much until I got the hang of WordPress.  Well, I still don’t get it.  I’m struggling with it.  I feel like my students when they don’t get something I’ve taught them.  And then, they go to the book looking for help and IT seems like the book is in Greek.  Word Press is a challenge.  The features aren’t the same as blogger.  And it seems like I have to know more tech knowledge.  It makes me so made. . . frustrating.  Even though I keep saying I’m going to give up, I don’t.  It is a challenge and I always try to master a challenge.

Now, I need ya’lls  help.  I want to save my work on the old site and completely shut it down.  I’m asking for suggestions on saving that work.  Blogger does not export, I just want the text.  I don’t really care about the rest.  It was my journal of my second year.  So if you have suggestions for preserving it, please let me know.

Next, you might notice I deleted all of the imported posts.  The reason is because it had to many links to the old site.  There was no way to import it without the links.  Alas, we must say goodbye to what was. I’m not good with goodbyes and break ups.  So long, second year teacher.  Farewell.  Hello, new challenges and students.

BTW, thank you for following me and going on another journey.

Hang in there girl! You’ll get it. I’m sorry to hear about your old posts. I have no clue how to easily save all your old posts from blogger except to manually go in and just copy/paste each one into a word document.

Just know that I’m rooting for you!

i’m glad to be on the new journey with you. :) i’m sure it’ll be a great one!

I’m with Eric- I would just copy and paste to a Word document, making sure to include the dates.

Bright side? It is summer. Frustrating as it may be (and I get frustrated with blogging features frequently), you have some time to work on it and try to figure a few things out.

    We’ll be with you!

And I’m not sure how much I can help- I have a feeliing that a hosted site features are differnt fderom a site that you purchased…

Looking good! I’m loving the pink.

I think if you import the old posts with the new file that I emails you, it SHOULD work. Let me know.

Now see…I have to disagree with Mrs. M. I’m not in favor of the pink. It’s too….too….oh what’s the word…girly! That’s the word. It’s too girly! Blagh! :P

BUT, I AM A GIRL! hMMMMM!

I, too, am happy to be along for the ride and am also often frustrated with Wordpress. I picked it instead of other blogging sites because it seemed to have much more to offer. If anyone has a “how to do wordpress” link, please share! Anyway, the new site looks great, and I’m sure year three for us both will bring many new hot blogging topics.

From hearing other bloggers experiences with saving posts, I’d say a Word document is the way to go.

    Like the new digs :)

The pink is very fem, but I think that it’s working for now. I found your link thru Miss B’s
page. So, I updated my links. Hope that’s ok. ;-) When does your 3rd year officially begin?
I have less than a month! AUGH!

Don’t worry, you’ll get used to wordpress. When you get used to the basics, there are tons of modules out there to use.

Here’s a link to instructions for backing up your old blog:

Here’s a link to free software that let’s you download an entire website (like your old blog):

    I hope this helps.

Digging the new layout, y ¡gracias por invitarme! I’m nervous about starting my 3rd year as well… especially because I’ll be teaching three new classes, one of which is AP Spanish! But I’m at a conference right now to learn how to teach it well, so hopefully I’ll be ready in September. I’m sure you’ll definitely be ready for your new adventures of African-American history and honors!
